The Name "Palace-on-Wheels" (POW) was derived from its royal back-ground of the coaches. A new meter gauge air conditioned Palace-on-Wheels was introduced in 1984 & had 13 Saloons, 2 Restaurant cum Kitchen car, one Bar cum Lounge and 4 Service Cars. In order to further increase the amenities on the train and due to over all gauge conversion in the state, a new broad gauge Palace-on-Wheels has been constructed & has been running since 1996. It's 14 Saloons are inter-connected, the interiors of the saloons reflect the aesthetics of the former Royal states of Rajasthan. The exquisite and exclusive Palace on Wheels has luxurious Cabins, wall to wall carpeting, a well stocked bar, two dining cars (The Maharaja and Maharani) and a very personalized service... in fact, almost everything that could comprise of heaven on earth for seven days !!!

Day1 - Saturday - Delhi Cantt
 
Delhi - India's capital and a mix of the old- world charm and a pulsating megapolis, Delhi is famous for its Mughal and British monuments like the Red Fort, Qutab Minar, Humayun's Tomb, Rashtrapati Bhavan and Parliament House. Connaught Place offers shoppers a heaven to buy right from small curios to pricelessly crafted articles.

Itinerary Time
Reporting at the Delhi Cantonment railway station.
8:30 hrs.
Fairy Queen departs. Lunch and snacks on board.
9:00 hrs.
Arrial Alwar railway station,
Visit to Siliserh Palace (Tea, Snacks & Boating),
Arrival Hotel Tiger Den,
Cultural Programme,
Dinner.

Day2 - Sunday - Sariska 
Sariska - Famous for its Tiger Reserve where magnificient tigers, leopards, sambhars, nilgai, and cinkara can be spotted in their natural habitat. The town also has the ruins of 9th and 10th century temples. Sariska is an ideal leisure spot for those interested in wildlife and ancient architecture.Located right next to the world famous tiger reserve is the Sariska Palace. It offers 49 rooms with modern amenities in a gracious, old world ambience. Adding to the beauty of this hotel is the pure nature all around and the frequent roar of tigers!

Itinerary Time

Wake up call with bed tea,
Departure for jungle safari in open jeeps. (5 tourists in each jeep),
Arrival back at hotel from the safari,
30 minutes for freshening up,
Visit to Alwar Museum,
Arrival Alwar railway station,
06:30 hrs.
Fairy Queen departs for Delhi,
Lunch and snacks on board.

Arrival Delhi Cantonment railway station

Tariff 
The Fairy Queen is sceduled to depart every second and fourth Saturday of every month from Delhi Cantonment Railway Station at 10:00 hrs. Reporting time is 09.00 hrs at Delhi Cantonment Railway Station.
